I’ve never been a fan of this feature, and perhaps never will be. There’s active noise cancellation and the transparency mode already mentioned, plus auto-pause, aptX support, and a four-LED indicator on the left cup that indicates a rough battery level.Īuto-pause stops your music, podcast or radio stream when you take off the headphones, or remove the right pad from your ear. Battery life a little longer than claimed.

Lindy BNX-100XT features – Lots of features for less than £100 Once the buttons’ positions are logged in your muscle memory, the Lindy BNX-100XT are easy to use. Buttons may be out of fashion, but you can’t argue with their simplicity. The other cup is home to the standard three-button volume and playback control array, the kind you might get on an in-line remote, plus a 3.5mm socket for wired use. This switches off ANC and passes some external sound, heard by the headphones’ microphones, through to the drivers. One cup has a switch for active noise cancellation and a button to activate the transparency mode. There are no touch-sensitive buttons, and no gestures to learn. When it comes to the BNX-100XT’s controls, Lindy keeps things simple. I took them on an hour-long run without issue. There will be zero problems for runners, too. But I’ve been happy enough wearing the headphones more-or-less all day. Oval pads are a better fit for most ears, as opposed to the circular style of those on the Lindy BNX-100XT. Relatively slender rubbery padding such as this can cause ache after a while, but the only minor issue I’ve encountered with the Lindy BNX-100XT is some ear discomfort after several hours of listening. This helps to keep the headphones in place on your head.

Lindy takes cues from Beats for its headband, with padding covered by a high friction soft rubber rather than faux leather. It feels, and probably looks, better than the matte plastic Lindy might have otherwise used.

The pads are large, faux leather-topped foam, and there’s an additional piece of synthetic leather on the back of each cup.

The Lindy BNX-100XT don’t look out of place next to far more expensive pairs such as the Sony WH-1000XM4 and Bose QC35 II. They’re otherwise very similar, and that’s no bad thing. This new pair has USB-C charging, and Lindy claims they use a new driver for better sound. However, the Lindy BNX-100XT are an update to the BNX-100 released in 2020.
